Dumas & Associates Realty has been owned and run by Nikki Dumas since she opened it in 1990. Thirty-six years later it is still an independent, women-owned Chicago brokerage with one office, in Logan Square, handling residential and commercial real estate across the city and its suburbs.
Nikki’s brokerage
Nikki Dumas was licensed in 1987, learned the trade at Burton Realty, and opened Dumas & Associates in 1990. She has owned it ever since. The office at 2519 N California Avenue, one block from the Blue Line, was built by the family’s own design-build firm, Studio Modernista, and she still works from it every day.
In 2023 she was named Logan Square Business Person of the Year. The office holds a 5.0 rating on Google across 29 reviews, and most of its business comes from clients who return for their next transaction, or send a friend.
What woman-owned means here
It means the owner is the managing broker, and the managing broker answers her own phone. There is no franchise, no regional office, and no one between you and the person responsible for your deal. The three brokers on the team, Nikki Dumas, Stacie Dumas, and Rena Trapani, work the way a small family business works: honest, direct, and in it for the long relationship rather than the single transaction.
It also means a broad practice. A boutique office has to be good at more than one thing, and this one handles single-family homes, condos, two- to four-unit buildings, storefronts and mixed-use property, leasing, and development, often for the same client over the years.

Since late 2024 the office has closed 49 sales in 14 Chicago neighborhoods, 15 of them commercial, from Rogers Park to West Pullman. The home turf is Logan Square, Wicker Park and Bucktown, Humboldt Park, and Avondale. Every neighborhood page lists the closings by address.
